Where’s Your Brandy Snifter? | Cocktail of the Day

Friday is just another excuse for me to indulge in spirits!

And my drink of choice, my preference rather, would be brown. Some say, “brown will bring you down.” Chuckles* But I don’t know what those people are drinking on … Cause brown lifts my spirit!

And on that note, I’d like to introduce you to the cocktail of the day: The Grown Man. Such a cocktail was inspired by the grown men that I know who love sipping on brandy or Grand Marnier but never got the inclination to mix the two. Try it. You’re in for a treat.
I prefer it on the rocks, a modification for grown women. Enjoy.

1 oz cognac
1 oz Grand Marnier

Mix contents in a shaker. Serve straight up in a brandy snifter. Garnish with an orange slice.

“Cuz You’ll Never Get On Top of Dis”–Malibu-YOW and Soulcial Thursdays

Oh yea! It’s Thursday, and we’re out for tonight. So here are a few recipes, thanks to Kanye West’s verse in Monster–“Mix that Goose and Malibu, call it Malibu-YOW.” These guys should get your head spinning. Enjoy Panachers!












This is a enjoyable recipe for Midnight Martini, with Grey Goose vodka, Chambord raspberry liqueur and lime juice.

  • 1 1/2 oz Grey Goose vodka
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 3/4 oz Chambord raspberry liqueur

Combine ingredients together in a cocktail shaker with crushed ice.

Shake well and strain into a highball glass, Garnish with a lime twist, and serve.



352 Cocktail recipe

Here is a scrumptious recipe for 352 Cocktail, with 151 proof rum, Grey Goose vodka and Wild Turkey bourbon whiskey.

  • 1/3 oz 151 proof rum
  • 1/3 oz Grey Goose vodka
  • 1/3 oz Wild Turkey bourbon whiskey

Stir ingredients together in a shot glass, and shoot.

Serve in a Shot Glass.





Cosmo Killer recipe

A distinctive recipe for Cosmo Killer, with Grey Goose vodka, DeKuyper Island Blue Pucker and Malibu coconut rum.

  • 1 oz DeKuyper Island Blue Pucker
  • 1 oz Grey Goose vodka
  • 1 oz Malibu coconut rum

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes.
Shake well, strain into a cocktail glass and serve.

Serve in a Cocktail Glass.













Summer Sipper: Blueberry Sangria Lemonade

One of my all-time favorite summer libations is sangria.  Just the mere mention of the word automatically conjures up images of festive celebrations that take place on outdoor patios under a moonlit sky.  As much as I like the typical, red wine version of sangria, there is something about white wine (and of course, the addition of lemonade) that screams summer and prompts me to shelve the red vino until fall.

Blueberry Sangria Lemonade (recipe and image courtesy of Sandra Lee)


  • 1 1/2 cups frozen blueberries
  • 1 (12-ounce) can frozen concentrated pink lemonade
  • 1 bottle (750ml) Chardonnay
  • 3 cups lemon lime soda (recommended: Sprite)
  • 1/2 cup Cognac


In a large pitcher, combine all ingredients and stir. Refrigerate for 1 hour to meld flavors.

Serve chilled in iced tea glasses and enjoy!

REMEMBER: Drink responsibly and don’t drink and drive!
